Bio
AJ DeMond enters his first year as Pirate men’s basketball head coach, bringing a wealth of experience to the position. DeMond began his career as part of the University of Utah men’s basketball program, he was an AAU select coach, and he then moved right into assistant coaching positions at Western Nebraska and two coaching stints for the national junior college powerhouse College of Southern Idaho program. His record as a junior college assistant coach is 90-31. He coached four National Junior College Athletic Association All-Americans and five NJCAA Academic All-Americans in his time at CSI. In addition to his coaching duties at Peninsula College, DeMond is the lead for Pirate Athletics fund raising and also serves as a faculty advisor.
